Carolyn Linsey practices in the areas of civil litigation, employment, health care and education law. In addition to litigating a wide variety of matters in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels, Carolyn represents schools, health care providers and other clients in administrative and regulatory proceedings.
Carolyn’s litigation experience includes negligence, products liability, malpractice and commercial disputes. She has earned an AV® Preeminent® 5.0 out of 5 peer review rating in Martindale-Hubbell,®1a leading law firm directory.
In the employment area, Carolyn regularly conducts seminars and provides training on a variety of topics, including preventing and responding to claims of sexual harassment and avoiding wrongful termination claims. She assists clients with drafting employment contracts and employee policies and handbooks. She appears frequently on her clients’ behalf before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO), and litigates employment-related cases in the courts.
Carolyn’s experience in the non-profit sector includes representing educational institutions and other non-profit organizations regarding governance, liability issues, conflict of interest, regulatory compliance and a variety of other issues. She has frequently represented non-profit organizations in discrimination, civil rights and similar litigation.
Carolyn joined the firm in 2005. Following law school, she served in the United States Air Force as a labor law specialist and then as Chief Area Defense counsel. She was in private practice in Connecticut before joining Jeffers Cowherd.
